K3 is a 15 inch gauge garratt locomotive built in 1990 by the Bush Mill Railway as an exact scaled down new build of 'K1' the first Garratt built in the world.
History[]
K3 worked regularly on the Bush Mill Railway which was located in Port Arthur, Tasmania, Australia. In early 1993 K3 visited the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway in the United Kingdom where the garratt gained much attention however had a bit of trouble with one of the bridges on the railway. The Bush Mill Railway closed on the 30th of June in 2004 and K3 operated on the Perrygrove Railway in the United Kingdom before being sold to an unknown buyer in December 2016.
