The Bristol-ECW Railbus was a class of two diesel railbuses that were built for British Rail in 1958.
History[]
In all, only two examples of what had became the Bristol-ECW Railbus were ever constructed in 1958 and the two railbuses had entered service on the lines that were operated by British Rail that same year in 1958.
The Bristol-ECW Railbuses had a mechanical transmission fitted to them when they were built.
Both of the Bristol-ECW Railbuses were withdrawn from active service in 1966, and neither one of the two railbuses were preserved, both of them were scrapped that same year in 1966, thus rendering both examples of the Bristol-ECW Railbuses completely extinct.
All that's left of the two Bristol-ECW Railbuses are four surviving Waggon and Maschinenbau Railbuses.
