Black Hills Central No. 103 is a 2-6-2T tank engine steam locomotive that was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1922 for the Silver Falls Timber Company in Oregon.
In 1965 No. 103 and its sibling engine No. 104, were both acquired by the tourist railroad the Black Hills Central Railroad in Keystone, South Dakota. No. 104 has been in continuous service over the years pulling excursion trains while No. 103 is currently sitting in storage being used as a source of spare parts to help keep No. 104 running.
There are supposedly plans to bring No. 103 back to running condition again but as of 2023 it is still waiting for its time to go to the shops.
