The Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. 2-6-6-2 was a proposed steam locomotive design for the Biles-Coleman Lumber Company on what would have been the Biles-Coleman Lumber Co.'s attempt at a 2-6-6-2 Tank Engine.[1]
The Proposal and Design[]
The proposal for this locomotive was submitted to the Biles-Coleman Lumber Company in the late 1920s in response to an inquiry about considering the idea of a narrow-gauge 2-6-6-2 Tank Engine type steam locomotive and it was supposed to be built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works.[1]
Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. 2-6-6-2 was designed to resemble Ferrocarril do Sur #9.[1]
Why wasn't it built?[]
The reasons to why the Biles-Coleman Lumber Co. 2-6-6-2 wasn't built is unknown, but it was assumed that steam technology was considered as old-school.
