Bangladesh Railway No. 280 (originally known as SCG-2 No. 240) is an 0-6-0 steam locomotive that was built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1921 as part of the Indian SG class of locomotives.
It was used on the Eastern Bengal Railway from 1921 to 1936 where it was numbered SGC-2 240 (c/n unknown). The locomotive was also converted to oil burning during its time on the EBR. In 1937, No. 240 was allocated to Saidpur Railway Workshops in East Pakistan (Now Bangladesh), also during this time No. 240 was renumbered to No. 280. The locomotive would work as a shunter at Saidpur Railway Workshops from 1937 until its retirement in 1983.
Today the locomotive Is preserved outside of Saidpur Railway Workshops, it is one of 2 surviving SG locomotives, the other being SGS 2473 from Pakistan Railways on display at Attock Pakistan.
