Baltimore & Ohio No. 173 is a 4-6-0 "Ten Wheeler" type steam locomotive built by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's Mt. Clare shops as their No. 373 in 1873 for freight service. In 1884 the locomotive was renumbered to 173.
In 1901, the B&O donated the locomotive to Purdue University in Lafayette, IN, who then donated it to the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, MO in 1951 where it is seen today on static display. Since 2017 it has been undergoing cosmetic restoration.
