The Baltimore and Ohio Class EL-5 was a class of twenty-six 2-8-8-0 steam locomotives that were first built by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad between 1919 and 1920 as originals of the USRA 2-8-8-2s but they would be rebuilt into 2-8-8-0s.

A total of twenty-six examples were built for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad between 1919 and 1920, and they all entered service after they were constructed.
They had been used on coal drags on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's system as freight locomotives.
The twenty-six examples were retired from service in 1955 and not a single one of them were preserved, they were all scrapped.
