BR Standard Class 9F No. 92079 was among one of the 251 BR Standard Class 9Fs built at BR Crewe Works/LMS Crewe Works in 1956 for the London Midland Region of British Railways. It was primarily used as a banking locomotive, it replaced Midland Railway No. 2290 "Big Bertha" and was given Big Bertha's Headlamp/Electric Headlight after Big Bertha was withdrawn from her own service in the 1950s and sent off for scrapping.

British Rail Standard Class 9F No. 92079 on the took over the jobs that Big Bertha had done in her career, such as banking trains up the Lickey Incline, however No. 92079 didn't last for very long as British Rail began ordering diesels at that point and started getting rid of their own steam locomotives, British Rail had No. 92079 retired from active service in the 1960s and No. 92079 was cut up for scrap.
