History[]
BR Standard Class 6 No. 72013 "Wildfire" would have been one of next members in the Southern region batch of the British Rail Standard Class 6 steam locomotives, No. 72013 would not be one of the 10 BR Standard Class 6 "Clan Class" steam locomotives built.
Why wasn't it built[]
The two reasons to why BR #72013 "Wildfire" wasn't built at all was because of an acute shortage of steel, this issue caused the order to be frequently postponed until the advent of the British Railways Modernization Plan had stepped in the way, this had caused the order to wind up being cancelled.
