Burlington Northern SD70MAC #9647 was chosen to wear a very unique paint scheme. The locomotive was delivered in the first part of August 1995 from the General Motors Locomotive Group (GMLG), and was built in Ontario, Canada. It was the 76th unit of Order #946565.
The unit arrived on the property wearing the BN cream and green colors applied in an ATSF-Warbonnet style paint scheme. The unit was decorated in this fashion to celebrate the approval of the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe merger by the Interstate Commerce Commission on the 20 July 1995.
Although unofficial, the unit was the Burlington Northern Santa Fe's first paint scheme. In 2013 the locomotive was repainted into the BNSF colors.
