The Arizona Copper No. 5 was built by the H. K. Porter Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1888 for the Arizona Copper Company of Morenci. The locomotive received the name "Forman," after someone who had contributed in some way or another toward the Coronado/Morenci.
No. 5 ran on 20" tracks. This is 16" less than narrow gauge, and 36 1/2" less than standard gauge tracks. The small locomotive measures only 17 feet long, by 5 feet 5 inches wide and weighs just 11 tons.

The locomotive was used to haul ore trains from the Metcalf mines on the Coronado Railroad until it was retired in 1922 when the Coronado Railroad ceased operations. In 1923 the locomotive along with two other engines (Arizona Copper No. 7 and No. 2), were left abandoned on top of a steep 1,200 foot Coronado mountain incline.
The three locomotives were eventually found and recused in 1990 with each one going to different homes for restoration.
Today No. 5 resides outside the Morenci Plaza, AZ in the middle of a parking lot on static display.
