Algers, Winslow and Western Railway No. 203 was an EMD SD9 that was built by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) for the Central of Georgia Railway in March 1955.

History[]

Algers, Winslow and Western Railway No. 203 was constructed in March 1955 by the Electro-Motive Division (EMD) and was delivered to the Central of Georgia Railway that same year in 1955 after it was constructed.

When the Central of Georgia Railway was split by the Southern Railway, CofG No. 203 had retained its number of 203 through the days of the Southern Railway, but when Southern Railway merged with the Norfolk and Western Railway to form Norfolk Southern, No. 203 didn't get passed onto the Norfolk Southern's roster. No. 203 was later sold to the Algiers, Winslow and Western Railway where it retained its number of 203, its unknown if it got retired from the Southern Railway's roster before being sold to Algiers, Winslow and Western Railway.

The locomotive was later sold to Respondek Railroad Corporation where it still retained its number of 203. Until being sold to a company called SCS. Until in March 2020, the locomotive was sadly scrapped
