
No. 40 is a 0-4-0F fireless locomotive built in 1953 by the Davenport Locomotive Works with construction number 3420 for the Alabama Power Company.
It was built as a yard switcher and came with 38" drive wheels, 25x20 cylinders, and a distinctively wide steam chamber which combined to deliver a tractive effort of 19,740lb.
Today it is on static display at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum.
