Century 425

The ALCO Century 425 was a diesel-electric locomotive type road switcher, that was built by ALCO for six railroads. In all, a total of 91 examples were built between October 1964 and December 1966.

Categorized as a member of the ALCO Century line of diesel locomotives, the C425 was an upgraded version of the C424. The C425 employed the same main generator found in General Electric's U25B diesel locomotive.

Regarding Technical Specifications, the C denoted that it was a member of the ALCO Century Line, the 4 denoted it had four axles, and the 25 denoted that it could generate 2,500 hp (1,860 kW).
